Planning your trip
When is the best time for a safari in Tanzania?
Any time of year works. June to October is the dry season with the easiest game viewing. January to March is calving season in the Serengeti. April and May are greener, quieter and cheaper.
How many days do I need?
Three days is a good first taste (Tarangire and Ngorongoro). Five days adds the Serengeti and is our favourite. Add three or more nights on Zanzibar if you want a beach finish.
Are your safaris private?
Yes. Every safari has its own vehicle and driver-guide, and starts on the day you choose. We also plan trips for families, friends and company groups.
Can you plan a trip just for us?
Yes — most of our trips are tailor-made. Use Plan My Trip to build your route and see a price in minutes, or simply send us a message.
Prices & payment
Are your prices complete?
Yes. We show the full price per person, including park fees, vehicle, guide, accommodation and meals as listed. Every tour page says exactly what is and is not included.
How do I pay?
Nothing is paid online. Send a booking request, and once we confirm your dates you receive an invoice. Pay a 30% deposit by M-Pesa, Mixx by Yas, card link or bank transfer; the balance is due 45 days before you travel.
Do children pay less?
Yes. Children aged 3–11 pay 70% of the adult price and infants under 3 travel free. Kilimanjaro climbers must be at least 10.
On the trip
What vehicle will we use?
A 4x4 Toyota Land Cruiser with a pop-up roof, a window seat for every guest, charging points and a cool box with drinking water.
Do I need a visa or vaccinations?
Most visitors need a visa, which can be applied for online before you travel. Rules change, so check the current requirements for your passport and ask your doctor about vaccinations and malaria tablets. We send you a checklist after booking.
Can we reach you during the trip?
Always. Your guide is with you every day, and Johannes is on WhatsApp from your first question until you are home.
Changes & cancellations
Can I change my dates after booking?
Usually, yes. Tell us as early as possible and we will move your trip if the lodges and park permits allow. Any price difference is shown before you agree.
What if I have to cancel?
More than 60 days before travel you get the deposit back minus bank fees. Between 60 and 31 days the deposit is kept. Within 30 days no refund is possible, so we strongly recommend travel insurance.
