This is the safari we suggest when time is short — before a Kilimanjaro climb, after a business trip in Arusha, or as a first taste of Tanzania. You spend the first afternoon in Tarangire National Park, known for its big elephant herds and ancient baobab trees, and a whole day on the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater, a volcanic bowl full of lions, buffalo, hippos and — with patience — black rhino.
The safari is private: your own 4×4 with a pop-up roof, your own driver-guide and your own pace. Nights are spent at a comfortable lodge in the green Karatu highlands, between the two parks, so the drives stay short.

Jour 1
Arusha to Tarangire National ParkTarangire
Pick-up from your Arusha hotel at 7:30 and a two-hour drive to Tarangire. Game drive along the Tarangire River, where elephants, giraffes and zebras come to drink, with a picnic lunch in the park. Late afternoon drive up to the cool Karatu highlands.

Jour 2
A full day in the Ngorongoro CraterNgorongoro
An early start to drive 600 metres down onto the crater floor. Spend the day with lions, buffalo, hippos, flamingos and, with luck, black rhino, and have a picnic by the hippo pool. Climb back out in the afternoon and relax at the lodge.

Jour 3
Coffee morning and back to ArushaKaratu – Arusha
A slow breakfast and an optional walk through a coffee farm near the lodge. Drive back to Arusha, arriving early afternoon — in time for a flight or your next adventure.

Price per person when two people travel together and share a room. Three or more travellers pay less per person — ask us. Single room: add US$120. Children aged 3–11 pay 70% of the adult price.
